How to reheat Pies & Tarts?

Refrigeration; Freezing: At all times please keep your pies refrigerated or frozen.  We recommend you only keep pies in the refrigerator that are going to be eaten immediately. Please freeze the balance.  This is not a food safety warning – it’s a food freshness recommendation.  The true flavor will disappear over time, in a refrigerator.  Pies can stay frozen for up to 6 months.

Heating: Times depend on the heating speed of your oven and if in fan bake mode.  We recommend heating the pies in a preheated oven from 150-180 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.  Experiment a little to find the perfect setting for your oven.  Add another 20 minutes if heating a frozen pie

Microwaving: We do not recommend heating pies in your microwave.  The pastry becomes soggy and loses its texture.  It is OK, though, to microwave a frozen pie for 1-1.5 minutes before heating it in the oven. Then heat in the oven for the 15-20 minute period.

Cooking and reheating instructions!

You’ll find cooking and reheating instructions on the packaging of all our meals.

Fresh meals: Fresh meals simply require reheating in the microwave for 2-3 minutes or until hot. If you don’t have a microwave, don’t worry. Most meals can be easily transferred to an oven dish or fry pan to be reheated quickly in the oven or on the stove.

Frozen meals: defrosted you can reheat them in their tray in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for approx  30 minutes or until bubbling and piping hot, or transferred from the foil tray to an oven dish for reheating in the microwave.

Other frozen: like our stroganoff are already cooked and simply require being reheated once defrosted and this can be done either in the microwave or transferred to a frying pan on the stove.
